So, here I am sitting in physics after I bombed my test. I pull my phone out and check a text that my mom sent me while I was failing miserably taking this test. Yes it was really that bad. Anyways, something prompted me to check my email while I was still on my phone, and right there, on my screen an email titled "Welcome!!!!". I had gotten an email from my host mother that went something like "I'm Miky, mother of Francesca... Genova *insert heart emoji here*", really vague I know, but it was enough for me to, loudly, whisper to my best friend that I finally heard from my host family. I found out that my host family consists of a mother, Michelangela, a father, Roberto, and a 13 year old sister named Francesca. And I can not forget to mention, there are two dogs, two big dogs.
I will be residing in the gorgeous town of Genoa (Genova), Italy!
I'm extremely excited!!! Not only did I get my host family information, I also got my flight details! As happy as I to find out the exact day I am leaving, it is scaring me too. I am constantly wondering if my host family will like me, will I fit in, how much I will miss everything over here in America. It is never to early to say the most obvious things that I will be missing while I am abroad. So here is my list:
- The Superbowl! I'm a huge football fan and it kind of stinks that I am leaving the country just a week and a half before the game.
- Driving, I literally JUST got my drivers license and I am going to be missing my court date to get my physical plastic licenses, it's kind of a really big mess right now, but oh well I have my license and that is all that matters.
- My family!!
- My friends for sure
- This one is weird, but my high school. I've said it many times before, as much as I hate it here, I'll miss not even more.
- Starbucks. If I hear someone tell me one more time "You are going to Italy, they have great coffee over there", sure they have coffee over there, but they don't do frappechinos in Italy.
a little extra note, I literally have been struggling with this post for like 2 weeks.
